What is the Role?
Working for a major UK Rail Track Renewal Contractor you will join a team and assist in the delivery of track renewals, namely Plain Line renewals, but some Switch and Crossing work. You will have technical input to track design and installation, the core responsibilities include;
o marking-up; track survey (horizontal and vertical alignment)
o setting out. setting up lasers (for level/gradient control of dozers);
o monitoring formation depth during excavation;
o checking of levels / fall of newly installed track drainage;
o monitoring layering and compaction of new ballast;
o monitoring installation of new track for level, alignment and correct cant;
o marking up track for lifting and alignment by tamping machine;
o technical supervision of stressing; provision of as-built information.
The work will be Night and Day shifts.
