ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
•Minimum / preferred qualifications & professional status HNC in Construction/Building or equivalent (Minimum)
•Minimum / preferred skills General knowledge of contracts
•Intermediate knowledge of IT (Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook) (Minimum)
•Minimum / preferred knowledge & experience 5 Years post-qualification experience within construction industry (Minimum)
DESIRABLE:
In depth knowledge of the construction industry in the UK and particularly the pre and post construction
Previous experience of working for a reputable organisation within construction contracting
THE ROLE:
Pre-Contract
To co-ordinate the design team and specialist subcontractors to assist the estimator in providing a competitive estimate with minimum risk to the Company in the time available and in compliance with the employers requirements.
• Examine the tender documents and identify contractual risks.
• Review precontract requirement on dates for information and pricing to achieve the tender date.
• Convene and attend a design team meeting at the earliest opportunity
• Monitor the schedule information flow and action items-chase where required.
• Liaise with the Client and or his Project Manager to obtain all necessary tender information
Core Roles and Responsibilities Cont. Post-Contract
To co-ordinate the activities of the design team and specialist subcontractors in developing the design and progressing procurement with the contract management teams, to ensure that the construction can progress in accordance with the Employers Requirements, Statutory Requirements, Tender Estimate and Contract Programme.
• Review with the contract management team the post-contract requirements on information issue for procurement and construction against the Contract Programme.
• Convene and chair a post-contract design team meeting.
