About the company: Our client is a privately owned South Australian based company who are leaders in the civils infrastructure sector. Having been established for over seven years, they now have an annual turnover in excess of $100 million. During this time they have shown a steady and manageable growth and predict more expansion in the coming years. Projects are predominately in the South Australia area, although the company has recently branched out into New South Wales, Victoria and the Northern Territory. Our client are able to offer versatile and challenging heavy civils projects.
About the Role: Our client is seeking Estimators to work on projects with typical values of between $10 and $100 million
Type of Projects:
Water/Sewer/recycled water/stormwater pipelines
Concrete structures
Bulk earthworks
Roadworks
About the Requirements/Responsibilities:
5+ years knowledge of the civils construction industry
Ability to estimate from first principles
Communicate with client / consultants to clarify tender and drawing issues
Management of the tender process from preliminary review to tender application
Reading and interpreting construction drawings
Undertake quantity take offs for earthworks, pipelines, roadworks and RC structures
Prepare supplier and subcontractor packages for obtaining quotations
Check supplier and subcontractor quotations meet tender requirements
Dependant on ability – put together a first draft of an estimate
Strong mathematical skills
Competent in English, both written & verbal
Computer literate – word, excel
